Viral Video of Schoolgirl Defending Father Proven Scripted, Not Real

A video circulating widely on social media depicts a young girl in a school uniform retrieving a firearm from her father’s car and confronting several men after they allegedly harassed him at a petrol station. The clip quickly gained traction, with many users sharing it across platforms.

On April 10, 2026, an X user identifying as a social media influencer posted the video with the caption, “Who says a daughter is a burden? A daughter is a blessing,” which attracted 13,200 views. Another X account shared the same footage with the caption, “Brave Daughter. A father’s arm — girls can be strong too, not just boys,” amassing 369,900 views. Additionally, a self-described journalist on X posted the video, gathering 86,600 views. The clip was further disseminated on YouTube and TikTok, collectively surpassing 150,000 views.

Given the video’s rapid spread and public interest, a fact-check was conducted to verify its authenticity. A thorough keyword search found no reports from credible national or international media outlets about such an incident. A reverse image search traced the video back to a YouTube Shorts account known for producing scripted content.

The video, dated April 9, 2026, was titled, “The video went viral when a daughter saw her father being insulted and chased away the opponent after pulling a pistol from the car.” The description read, “Papa ki sherni (father’s lioness). Brave girl.” The channel’s profile clarified that it specializes in educational and entertaining “CCTV-style scripted videos” aimed at portraying societal realities through dramatized stories, awareness messages, and entertainment.

Further examination revealed that the vehicle featured in the viral clip appeared in multiple other videos on the same channel, confirming its staged nature. These findings establish that the video was created purely for entertainment and does not depict a genuine event.

In conclusion, the claim that the viral video shows a schoolgirl defending her father from harassers with a gun is false; the footage is scripted and not based on a real incident.
