The Sindh cabinet has agreed to lift the upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) from 30 to 33 years. Candidates will also be able to sit the test up to five times, up from three, a spokesperson said.
The decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah at the CM House in Karachi. They form part of a wider package of reforms to the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), which also covers the minimum qualifying marks.
Lower pass threshold and new testing format
The cabinet reduced the minimum qualifying marks for CCE 2026 from 40% to 33%. It also approved computerised testing for examinations that consist of a single paper, the spokesperson said.
According to the same spokesperson, Shah used the meeting to brief ministers on his recent visit to China.
Cabinet reviews 29 agenda items
The meeting discussed 29 agenda items linked to various provincial departments. Provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants, the chief secretary and other senior officials attended.
