The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has announced a revised fee schedule for electronic passports, with charges varying by passport validity, number of pages and processing category. Applicants can choose between five-year and 10-year passports, with normal and urgent processing available for 36-page and 72-page documents.
Fees for five-year e-passports
For a five-year e-passport, normal processing costs Rs.9,000 for a 36-page document and Rs.16,500 for a 72-page passport. Under urgent processing, applicants must pay Rs.15,000 for 36 pages and Rs.27,000 for 72 pages.
Ten-year e-passport fees under the new schedule
The normal fee for a 10-year e-passport is Rs.13,500 for 36 pages and Rs.24,750 for 72 pages. Urgent processing costs Rs.22,500 for a 36-page passport and Rs.40,500 for a 72-page version.
The revised schedule lets applicants select validity period, page count and processing category according to their needs.
