Trump Signals Possible Iran Deal by Monday Amid Rising Tensions

In a significant development, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that a deal with Iran could be reached by Monday, highlighting ongoing negotiations between the two countries. This announcement came amid heightened tensions following recent military confrontations in the region.

Earlier on Sunday, President Trump issued a stern warning via social media, stating that if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened by Tuesday, the United States would target Iran’s power plants and bridges. The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial maritime passage that Tehran has effectively closed since the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iranian targets over a month ago. Trump’s message, posted on his Truth Social platform, emphasized the severity of potential U.S. military actions, describing the upcoming day as “Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran.”

Meanwhile, the president announced plans to hold a news conference on Monday in the Oval Office. This briefing is expected to address the recent rescue of two U.S. pilots whose aircraft were downed in Iran, an incident that has further escalated tensions between the two nations. The military operation to recover the pilots underscores the high-stakes environment surrounding U.S.-Iran relations at this time.

These developments come against the backdrop of a complex geopolitical landscape, where diplomatic efforts and military posturing continue to intertwine. The potential for a deal by Monday offers a glimmer of hope for de-escalation, yet the president’s warnings signal that the U.S. remains prepared to take decisive action if necessary.
