At least three motorcyclists and one other person were killed in four separate road accidents across Karachi during the night of Saturday and Sunday, according to rescue officials. The crashes happened in different parts of the city, including Korangi, the Matric Board Office area and the Super Highway.

Four crashes across Karachi leave four dead

Rescue officials said a motorcyclist, 29-year-old Noor Ahmed, died when a car struck his bike near Nasir Jump in Korangi. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

Near the Matric Board Office, a speeding car collided with a motorcycle ridden by food delivery rider Imtiaz, who died in the crash. The impact made him lose control and crash onto the footpath, and four occupants of the car were also injured.

In a separate incident near New Golimar at the Rizvia turning, an unidentified car hit a motorcycle, killing the rider on the spot. On the Super Highway near Jamali Pul, 19-year-old Muhammad Sufyan died after a speeding truck hit the rear of his car.

The car was carrying a group returning from a picnic and veered into a footpath on impact. Authorities confirmed that the truck driver escaped the scene.

Delivery rider was on his final order

A colleague and friend of the deceased said Imtiaz was heading to the KDA Roundabout to complete his last food delivery of the night when the crash occurred.

Daniyal, a close friend, said he had spoken to Imtiaz at 4:00 AM, when Imtiaz told him he would come straight back after dropping off the final order. Daniyal said he rushed to the scene after seeing reports of the accident on social media.

Witnesses alleged that everyone in the car, including the driver, appeared to be intoxicated. Daniyal said the occupants tried to flee, but bystanders managed to catch two of them.

Police confirmed that all four people travelling in the vehicle have been taken into custody and that formal legal proceedings have been started against them.

Friends said Imtiaz was engaged and was scheduled to get married in a year and a half.
