Daily-wage employees in Peshawar will have their monthly salaries processed on the same timetable as regular government staff, after the Capital Metropolitan Government decided to align the two payrolls.

An official office order from the administration tells the relevant departments to make this happen every month. Under the new arrangement, payments for daily-wage staff will be processed on the recommendations of the concerned principals, which is meant to create a more orderly system.

Compliance orders and expected effect on payments

The Director General has instructed the relevant principals, the Finance Section and the Establishment Assistant to follow the directives strictly. The decision is expected to help daily-wage employees by bringing their pay cycle in step with permanent staff and reducing delays in monthly payments.

Sindh cabinet approves wheat import and wage increase

Separately, the Sindh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, earlier this year approved the import of 500,000 metric tonnes of wheat and endorsed a series of governance and development measures. The meeting at the Chief Minister’s House was attended by provincial ministers, advisers, senior officials and the Chief Secretary.

The cabinet approved a Minimum Wages Board recommendation to raise the provincial minimum wage by 7.5 percent, effective from 1 July 2026. Wages for semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers were also increased.
