China Denies Military Aid to Iran, Calls Reports ‘Purely Fabricated’

China has officially refuted claims that it is supplying military assistance to Iran, dismissing recent media reports as entirely unfounded. This statement arrives amid increased global attention on Tehran’s regional maneuvers and its growing strategic alliances.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), reaffirming that China enforces stringent regulations on arms sales and defense technology exports. A ministry spokesperson highlighted that Beijing consistently acts with caution and responsibility when dealing with military product exports.

The statement further explained that China’s oversight complies fully with its national laws and international commitments. This clarification aims to distance China from accusations of circumventing global sanctions or fueling conflict escalation by providing Iran with military hardware or technical support.

In a significant development, the denial reflects China’s complex position in the Middle East. Despite signing a 25-year strategic cooperation agreement with Tehran in 2021, China strives to maintain its image as a responsible global actor and impartial mediator in regional disputes.

Western intelligence agencies and critics have repeatedly expressed concerns about the possible dual-use applications of Chinese technology entering Iran. Nevertheless, Beijing maintains that its trade with Iran is exclusively civilian and fully adheres to international standards.

By branding the recent allegations as fabrications, the Foreign Ministry signaled its refusal to accept what it views as Western efforts to tarnish China’s diplomatic and commercial reputation.
