NADRA explains B-Form process when mother lacks CNIC

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has set out how families can obtain a child’s B-Form when the mother does not have her Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) available. The B-Form, officially called the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), is the document used to enter children into the national database.

The guidance was shared in a statement through a NADRA podcast by Public Information Officer Syed Shabahat Ali. He said the process depends on whether the mother’s CNIC has been issued but is currently missing, or has never been issued.

Verification rules differ by mother’s CNIC status

When a CNIC has already been issued but the mother does not carry it on a visit to a NADRA centre, the missing card may not be a serious obstacle. NADRA said her identity can be confirmed through her CNIC number or biometric verification, including fingerprints.

The situation is harder if no CNIC was ever issued. In that case, the family’s records and supporting documents must be complete before the B-Form can be obtained.

Unregistered marriages and family numbers can stall applications

NADRA officials explained that the parents’ marriage may not appear in the official record in such cases, and a family number may not have been generated. These gaps can complicate the processing of a child’s registration.

Parents facing this problem may need to resolve the missing identity or family registration records before applying for the B-Form.

Replacement B-Form fees and application options

NADRA has also outlined how to replace a child’s B-Form if the original is lost. Applicants can visit their nearest NADRA Registration Centre or apply from home using the Pak ID mobile application.

According to NADRA, the replacement fee is Rs50 under the normal category and Rs500 under the executive category.
