The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday heard petitions concerning the disappearance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial minister Fazal Shakoor Khan and Fazal Muhammad, a member of the National Assembly (MNA). The bench, comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Fahim Wali, took up the case.
The investigation officer told the court that geo-fencing had been carried out and that efforts to recover the missing persons were ongoing. The court also observed that an FIR had been registered in the MNA’s case.
Lawyers dispute USB evidence and investigation conduct
Petitioner’s lawyer Bashir Khan Wazir told the court that a USB had been provided to police. Assistant advocate general Mohammad Adnan Sher said the petitioner was not providing the USB, while the lawyer said it had been handed to Chamkani police and the minister’s brother had recorded his statement.

The lawyer also said the investigation officer in the provincial minister’s case had not been appearing in court.
Similar cases sought alongside recovery petitions
Justice Ijaz Anwar observed: “This is the state of affairs in the country, provincial minister and the MNA are going missing with no trace.” He also questioned what the condition of the general public would be if prominent persons could vanish in this way.
The lawyer asked the bench to club other cases of a similar nature, which were fixed for November 03, with these petitions. The court then adjourned further hearing of the recovery petitions until November 03.
