Mariah Carey is selling one of her most renowned properties, listing her longtime New York City penthouse for $27 million after nearly 24 years of ownership. The Grammy-winning artist is offering her expansive triplex apartment in Tribeca for the first time since she combined multiple units in 1999 to create the luxurious residence.
Originally, Carey acquired several units in the building for a total of $9 million, which she later merged into a sprawling home occupying the top three floors. The property spans approximately 12,700 square feet of interior space, complemented by 1,100 square feet of outdoor terraces. It provides panoramic 360-degree views, stretching from the Hudson River to the Manhattan skyline.
Fans may recall the penthouse from Carey’s iconic 2002 MTV Cribs appearance, where she famously showcased the home with multiple outfit changes, a bathtub scene, and even a workout session in high heels. The residence includes eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a gym, and a sunroom, featuring a versatile layout designed for flexible living arrangements.
The listing details reveal that the 16th floor can operate as a self-contained unit, while the 17th and 18th floors form an upper duplex topped by a private terrace. Notably, the listing photos do not show Carey’s famed walk-in closet seen during the Cribs tour, although floor plans indicate the large dressing area remains part of the property.
In a significant development, this sale follows another recent real estate transaction by Carey. In 2023, she sold her Atlanta mansion for $4.3 million, which was less than the price she originally paid for it less than two years prior.
