Mumbai police have set up 15 teams to find and arrest those responsible for firing at the car of Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in the Juhu area. Investigators are combing through CCTV footage, forensic findings and ballistic evidence from the scene.
The 36-year-old actor was not hit by any bullets in the Sunday evening incident near Pushpa Park. Police said his driver, Firdaus, and an autorickshaw driver identified as Chauhan were hurt and taken for medical care.
Police teams trace suspects and examine a circulating video
A police official said the teams include personnel from the Mumbai Crime Branch and local police units. Their work centres on reconstructing how the shooting happened and identifying the people behind it.
Officers are reviewing recordings from nearby cameras to follow the suspects’ movements and establish how many people took part. A video circulating online appears to show a person shooting at the vehicle, though authorities say the footage forms part of the probe.
Forensic experts have examined the site and the car, gathering ballistic material that could reveal the number of rounds fired.
Chief minister orders a swift inquiry into the attack
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured Shroff of the state government’s support, according to his office. The office said Fadnavis spoke to the actor after the shooting and promised action against those involved.
Fadnavis, who also holds the state’s home portfolio, sought an update from Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti. He instructed him to speed up the investigation and make sure the attackers are arrested.
Unverified gang claim and opposition criticism
A social media post claiming to speak for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has said it carried out the attack. Police have not verified the post, and investigators have not yet determined whether the gang had any role.
Opposition leaders have criticised the incident, raising questions about public safety and how the state government is handling law and order. Police are still working to establish a motive.
Shroff made his Hindi film debut in 2014 with Heropanti and later appeared in action films including Baaghi, Baaghi 2 and War. In 2019 he co-founded the mixed martial arts promotion Matrix Fight Night.
