Karachi Kings captain David Warner has expressed strong confidence in his team’s preparations and overall squad strength ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11. He emphasized the goal of building on the previous season’s achievements and pushing beyond the playoff stage.

Speaking at the pre-tournament captains’ press conference held in Lahore, Warner stressed the value of maintaining continuity within the team while also embracing the fresh talent added to the roster. He specifically mentioned the positive impact of new players Adam Zampa and Salman Ali Agha, describing their inclusion as a significant boost.

“Having players like Adam Zampa and Salman Ali Agha join us is fantastic,” Warner noted. “Our focus is on replicating the strengths we showed last year and addressing the areas where we fell short. We are hopeful to improve this season and advance further than just the playoffs.”

Warner also expressed satisfaction with the squad assembled during the recent player auction, confident that the team is well-equipped to compete in the expanded eight-team format of PSL 11. “We have assembled a strong group of players, and I believe we did an excellent job at the auction. We are prepared to take on the best teams in the tournament,” he added with enthusiasm.

Reflecting on Karachi Kings’ performance in PSL 10, Warner highlighted his own contributions with the bat, having scored 368 runs in 11 innings at an average of 33.45 and a strike rate of 153.97. When asked about his fitness at 39 years old, he dismissed any doubts, emphasizing his dedication to maintaining peak physical condition.

“At 39, I am in excellent shape—probably fitter than many players my age,” Warner said. “It comes down to a healthy diet, rigorous training, and consistent effort on the field. I aim to continue scoring runs and help put the team in strong positions.”

With a well-balanced squad and renewed determination, Karachi Kings are set to aim for a deeper run in PSL 11 under Warner’s leadership, hoping to surpass their previous season’s accomplishments.
