Job seekers can now check, verify and search for overseas jobs offered by licensed recruiting agencies through a portal run by the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BEOE) in Islamabad. The bureau says the platform carries information on thousands of foreign job opportunities through its official website and Facebook page.
How recruitment permits are checked and listed
Under the Emigration Rules of 1979, the Protector of Emigrants authorises licensed agencies to recruit for a fixed period. Permission is granted only after a foreign employer’s job demands are checked by the Pakistani embassy in the host country, that country’s foreign ministry, and its embassy in Pakistan.
Each permission order receives a unique Permission Tracking Number (PTN), which must be quoted in every job advertisement. Once permission is granted, the vacancy appears on the BEOE website under its PTN for the length of the recruitment drive. It is removed automatically once all advertised posts are filled.

Agency responsibility and complaint channels
Full responsibility for recruited workers rests with the relevant recruiting agency. Job seekers and workers with grievances can lodge complaints directly with the BEOE or the relevant Protector of Emigrants.
