Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has become the fastest Pakistani fast bowler to claim 150 One Day International wickets. He reached the milestone during the tri-nation series match against England at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.

The left-arm pacer achieved the feat in his 80th ODI, passing former fast bowlers Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar, who each needed 91 matches to reach the same mark. Shaheen is now the second-fastest Pakistani bowler overall to the landmark, behind former off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who got there in 78 matches.

Shaheen’s place among Pakistan’s 150-wicket takers

Shaheen is the eighth Pakistan fast bowler and the 13th Pakistani player overall to take at least 150 wickets in the 50-over format. The landmark adds to a growing list of achievements in international cricket.
