A fire at a warehouse in Karachi’s SITE Metroville has grown stronger, according to media reports. The blaze is in a storage area belonging to a garment factory on Plot No. 14-A.
Firefighting teams and vehicles deployed at the site
Four fire tenders and three Rescue 1122 vehicles are working to bring the flames under control. A snorkel from the KMC Fire Brigade has also reached the scene, and two water bowsers are supporting the operation.
Blaze began on the third floor
Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan said the fire started on the building’s third floor. Fire brigade officials added that a fire had broken out at the same location a few days earlier, and that the factory had turned that floor into a warehouse.
