The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has become active in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and launched inquiries into various projects of the Sohail Afridi government, sources said. The move follows the provincial PTI government holding matters in abeyance.

According to sources, NAB has summoned the records of Ali Amin Gandapur and former ministers Fazal Hakeem and Dr. Amjad. It has also asked for development works records from Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s tenure.

Records sought from the Civil and Works Department

NAB has demanded development works records from the Civil and Works Department, sources said. It asked how many roads were built during Afridi’s tenure and who received the contracts, and wants all contracts awarded by the C&W department.

Notices issued to revenue and development authorities

Notices have also gone to the provincial revenue department, the Registrar DHA, the PDA and other concerned departments. Sources said notices will be served on the three leaders after scrutiny of their assets.

NAB sources added that the noose would also tighten around officials involved in illegal recruitment and corrupt practices during the PTI’s rule.
