Security forces have eliminated 49 terrorists during a series of intelligence-driven operations carried out over recent days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Friday.
The military’s media wing detailed that these operations targeted militant groups across various districts in both provinces, resulting in 12 militants killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 37 in Balochistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, multiple intelligence-based missions were executed in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai, and Khyber. These actions led to the deaths of 12 militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij. The operations were launched following intelligence reports about militant presence and movements in these areas.
During these missions, security forces also seized a significant amount of explosives, improvised explosive device (IED) detonators, weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles in KP.
Meanwhile, in Balochistan, security forces conducted ten intelligence-led operations in districts including Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar, and Panjgur. These efforts resulted in the killing of 37 militants associated with Fitna al-Hindustan. A large cache of weapons, explosive drums, and remote-detonation devices was also recovered during these operations.
The ISPR confirmed that all recovered explosives, weapons, and related materials were destroyed to prevent further use.
In a significant development, the military emphasized that these successful operations have dealt a substantial blow to militant networks, disrupting their attempts to destabilize peace and security in the country.
The ISPR reiterated the commitment of security forces to safeguard Pakistan’s borders and eradicate militant groups operating within the nation. It highlighted ongoing clearance operations aimed at eliminating remaining Indian-sponsored militants and other terrorists.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counterterrorism efforts with full intensity under the Azm-e-Istehkam regime. The military remains steadfast in its resolve to eradicate the threat posed by Indian-sponsored terrorism until complete elimination is achieved.
