Gandapur’s alleged audio targets Salman Akram Raja in PTI row

A leaked audio recording, which is alleged to feature Gandapur, has exposed tensions within PTI’s leadership after Salman Akram Raja’s recent tweet. In the recording, Gandapur reportedly voiced anger over the post and accused Raja of failing to deliver results despite holding responsibilities.

According to the alleged audio, Gandapur said the party was now paying the price for Raja’s poor planning. He also demanded that Raja delete the tweet, explain his allegations and apologise.

Gandapur’s alleged remarks on Raja’s attendance and authority

In the recording, Gandapur also claimed that Raja had repeatedly been invited to parliamentary committee meetings but had not attended. He reportedly said Raja was neither given full authority nor able to deliver.

“We respect him only because of PTI founder Imran Khan,” Gandapur said in the alleged recording, adding that he could not understand who was giving Raja incorrect information.

Raja warns of conspiracy narratives over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Raja raised concerns about the party’s internal consensus and the situation surrounding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. In his tweet and statement, he said undemocratic decision-makers were trying to undermine consensus within PTI.

He said a narrative was being spread that 68 lawmakers were about to announce a new chief minister and had cut contact with incumbent Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. Raja urged workers in Peshawar and other areas not to believe any conspiracy-related claims until the investigation was complete, insisting Afridi remained chief minister under the law and Constitution.

Party appointments and the wider leadership dispute

Raja clarified that PTI founder Imran Khan personally appointed Junaid Akbar as party president in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Akbar’s absence, Ali Asghar is performing duties as acting president.

The alleged audio and the statements that followed have brought differences over party strategy, leadership and the provincial government into public view.
