In a significant development on Tuesday, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a successful operation in Lower Dir, resulting in the deaths of six militants. The operation was launched based on intelligence reports indicating the militants’ presence in the area.

Security forces surrounded the suspected militant hideout, which led to a fierce exchange of gunfire between the militants and law enforcement personnel. The targeted militants were believed to be involved in numerous terrorist activities across the region and had been under close surveillance for some time.

During the raid, authorities recovered six Kalashnikov rifles and three hand grenades from the militants, securing these weapons for further examination. Meanwhile, some militants managed to escape amid the firefight, prompting ongoing search and clearance operations in nearby locations to capture the fleeing suspects.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and police forces for their professionalism and effective coordination during the operation. He highlighted the high level of training demonstrated by the security personnel in neutralizing the militant threat.

Naqvi emphasized that this operation underscores the unwavering dedication of law enforcement agencies to preserving peace and stability in the region. He added that such decisive actions are crucial in thwarting efforts by militants to destabilize the country.
