An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on Tuesday approved bail pleas filed by lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha. The two were named in a case registered over blocking a road and scuffling with police.

Judge Abul Hasanat Muhammad Zulqarnain heard the matter, and police presented the case record in court. Defence counsel Raja Ali Azad told the judge the record had been submitted that day. The judge said he would otherwise have asked police about its absence.

Bail granted on surety bonds of Rs5,000 each

The court granted bail to both accused against surety bonds of Rs5,000 each. Before announcing its decision, the judge asked whether the parties had anything more to submit. He then approved the pleas.

Court to examine police show-cause notice

The judge also said he would look into the matter concerning a show-cause notice issued to police.
