Six people from one family, among them two women and three young children, were shot dead inside a house in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.

The attack took place in the Sarokhel area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Doaba Police Station. Gunfire inside a residential property claimed all six lives, according to officers.

Six family members killed in Sarokhel shooting

District Police Officer (DPO) Salahuddin Kundi confirmed that the dead included the household head, Noor Rehman, along with two women and three young children. All six died at the scene.

Nephew named as suspect after alleged family dispute

Preliminary inquiries have identified the suspect as Noor Rehman’s nephew, who police say is reportedly a drug addict. The DPO said an alleged dispute arose because Noor Rehman had stopped his nephew from bringing friends involved in drug use into the house.

Police said the suspect fled after the incident and have launched raids to arrest him.

Bodies moved to hospital as investigation continues

The bodies are in police custody and have been moved to Doaba Hospital for legal and medical procedures. DPO Hangu said investigators were examining every possible aspect of the case to establish the exact circumstances and motive behind the killings.
