Pakistan Reaffirms Uninterrupted Military Operations Against Afghan Taliban Amid Regional Tensions

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Tariq Fazal, has firmly dismissed recent social media rumors suggesting that Pakistan has ceased its military operations against the Afghan Taliban. Addressing the misinformation, he emphasized that the security campaign remains fully active and that the halt in sharing Pakistan Air Force and drone footage with the media is a temporary measure aimed at safeguarding sensitive operational strategies amid the evolving regional security landscape.

In a detailed statement posted on the social media platform X, Dr Fazal clarified that the decision to withhold aerial footage is not indicative of any slowdown or suspension of military efforts. Instead, it is a precautionary step designed to protect Pakistan’s national security interests and ensure the effectiveness of ongoing operations. He reassured the public that counterterrorism activities are progressing with both intensity and strategic precision.

Expanding on the operational progress, Dr Fazal highlighted that Pakistani forces continue to engage terrorist elements with unwavering determination. The campaign against the Afghan Taliban is advancing robustly, reflecting the government’s commitment to maintaining stability along the border and preventing militant threats from spilling over into Pakistani territory. This stance comes at a time when regional dynamics remain highly sensitive, requiring careful management of information dissemination.

Supporting Dr Fazal’s remarks, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar provided further insights into the scale and impact of the ongoing military campaign, known as Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. He revealed that Pakistani security forces have successfully eliminated 331 combatants affiliated with the Afghan Taliban, while injuring over 500 others during the course of the operation. These figures underscore the intensity of the military engagement and the government’s resolve to dismantle militant infrastructure.

Minister Tarar also detailed significant tactical achievements, noting that Pakistani forces have destroyed 104 Taliban check posts and seized control of 22 others. The operation has inflicted substantial damage on the Taliban’s military capabilities, including the destruction of 163 tanks and various armored vehicles. Furthermore, air strikes have targeted approximately 37 locations across Afghanistan, demonstrating the comprehensive and coordinated nature of the campaign.

It is important to recognize that these operations are part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to counter terrorism and stabilize the region. The temporary suspension of media sharing regarding aerial reconnaissance footage reflects a strategic decision to prevent sensitive information from potentially compromising ongoing missions. Both ministers reiterated that the government remains fully committed to combating terrorism and ensuring the security of Pakistan’s borders.
