Pakistan Reaffirms Uninterrupted Military Operations Against Afghan Taliban Amid Regional Tensions

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Tariq Fazal, has firmly dismissed recent social media claims suggesting that Pakistan has ceased its military operations against the Afghan Taliban. Addressing the misinformation, he emphasized that the ongoing efforts to counter terrorist elements remain fully active and have not been paused in any manner. This statement comes amid heightened regional sensitivities and evolving security dynamics in the area.

Dr Fazal explained that the temporary suspension of sharing Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and drone footage with the media is a strategic decision aimed at protecting national security interests and operational tactics. He clarified that this measure should not be misconstrued as a halt or slowdown in the military campaign. Instead, it is a precautionary step taken to maintain the element of surprise and safeguard sensitive intelligence amid the current geopolitical environment.

Highlighting the intensity of the ongoing campaign, the minister assured that operations against terrorist factions are progressing with full force and careful planning. He reiterated that Pakistan’s commitment to combating militancy remains unwavering, and the armed forces continue to carry out their duties with both determination and strategic wisdom to ensure the security of the country and its borders.

Supporting Dr Fazal’s remarks, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, provided further details about the progress of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. He revealed that Pakistani security forces have successfully neutralized 331 combatants affiliated with the Afghan Taliban, while more than 500 militants have sustained injuries during the ongoing offensive. This operation, launched to dismantle Taliban strongholds and disrupt their capabilities, has seen significant tactical achievements.

Minister Tarar also shared that Pakistani forces have destroyed 104 Taliban check posts, severely disrupting their control and movement. Additionally, 22 of these posts have been captured and are now under Pakistani control, marking a critical advancement in the campaign. The destruction of 163 tanks and military vehicles belonging to the Taliban further underscores the effectiveness of the operation.

Moreover, the Pakistani military has conducted precise airstrikes targeting approximately 37 locations across Afghanistan, inflicting substantial damage on Taliban infrastructure and logistics. These coordinated ground and air operations demonstrate Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorist threats emanating from across the border and contribute to regional stability.

It is worth noting that the decision to withhold drone footage from public dissemination is a reflection of the complex security environment Pakistan is currently navigating. The government aims to balance transparency with operational security, ensuring that sensitive information does not compromise ongoing missions or national interests. As the situation continues to evolve, Pakistan remains vigilant and committed to safeguarding its sovereignty against all forms of militancy.
