The District Health Officer of Islamabad, Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, has urged women to prioritise early detection, regular screening and timely treatment of breast cancer. She spoke at a breast cancer awareness session held at Medical Centre G-9.

The session was held under the Pinktober awareness campaign, which aims to teach women about the disease, its early warning signs and the need to seek medical advice without delay.

Community awareness urged to improve breast cancer outcomes

Dr. Rashida Batool stressed the need to strengthen awareness at the community level and encourage women to take a proactive approach to their health. She said greater awareness and timely medical consultation could help women access appropriate care and improve their chances of successful treatment.

The session formed part of ongoing public health efforts to promote preventive healthcare and raise awareness about breast cancer among women in Islamabad.
