Mark Zuckerberg Acquires 19th-Century Irish Castle for $35 Million

In a significant development in the world of high-profile real estate acquisitions, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has purchased the historic Strancally Castle in Ireland for a sum reaching up to $35 million. This 19th-century castle, steeped in history and surrounded by expansive natural beauty, represents a notable addition to Zuckerberg’s property holdings.

The castle is situated on approximately 440 acres of lush land along a river, offering a picturesque setting with vast green grounds. The estate boasts at least 11 bedrooms, complemented by four rooms located within its towers. Additionally, the property includes a library, a dining room, and a drawing room, all contributing to its grandeur and historic charm.

Valued between $23 million and $35 million, the upper price point equates to roughly Rs9.70 billion in Pakistani currency. This acquisition marks Zuckerberg’s continued interest in Ireland, where Meta’s international headquarters is based. A spokesperson for Meta confirmed that Zuckerberg and his family intend to preserve and maintain the historic residence, underscoring their commitment to the property’s legacy.

Notably, the purchase was made from an investor who had resided at Strancally Castle with his family for the past 25 years. This transaction follows another major real estate investment by Zuckerberg earlier this year, when he acquired a Miami residence valued at approximately $170 million. These moves highlight Zuckerberg’s expanding portfolio and his desire to spend more time in Ireland, blending his professional commitments with personal interests.
