The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices, according to a notification. Petrol has been cut by Rs5.16 per litre to Rs381.14, while diesel has dropped by Rs7.69 per litre to Rs389.27.
Petrol Relief Scheme offers discounts to riders and drivers
Under the scheme, motorcycle and Cingchi rickshaw owners receive a Rs100 per litre discount on up to 20 litres of petrol a month. Owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc may buy discounted petrol of up to 30 litres per month.
Applicants register by sending an SMS to 9771 containing REG, their CNIC number, vehicle registration number, the first word of their province name and the vehicle registration date. A confirmation message will be sent to their mobile phone once registration is complete.
Steps to obtain a petrol token before refuelling
Before visiting a petrol station, applicants should send TOK to 9771. They will then receive a token number by SMS, which must be presented at the station to claim the discounted petrol. A confirmation message will follow once the transaction is completed.
