At least seven Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, including a strike on a university campus in Gaza City. Three security guards were killed in an Israeli air strike on the Islamic University campus on Sunday. It was the second attack on the institution within a few hours.
Earlier, an Israeli drone strike on the campus injured seven female students with flying shrapnel. One of them was seriously injured and taken to a nearby field hospital, according to correspondent Hani Mahmoud.

Mahmoud, reporting from the scene, described the aftermath as massive, with blood and body parts on the ground and the smell of burning concrete in the air. He said his team had just finished filming on site and had greeted the three guards shortly before the strike killed them.

He said most buildings at the university had already been destroyed before Sunday’s attacks. “Only a couple of these buildings are partially standing,” he said. He added that the incident showed how far a sense of security is from reach, even in a place where students should be able to learn without fear.
The Popular Resistance Committees in Palestine condemned the attacks on the university and called on mediators and international guarantors to step in to stop what it described as Israeli violations. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, says nearly 95 percent of Gaza’s higher education campuses have been destroyed or damaged since the war began in October 2023.

Deadly strikes in southern and central Gaza
The Nasser Medical Complex reported that two people were killed by Israeli shelling in al-Mawasi, in Khan Younis in the south. Several people were also wounded, including a child.
A person was killed in an Israeli drone strike east of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza. In a separate attack on al-Rashid Street, near Hamad Hospital in northern Gaza, one person was killed and several others were wounded, a Palestinian news agency reported.
Ceasefire-era toll and worsening food crisis in Gaza
Figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza show that at least 1,551 people have been killed since the ceasefire began in October 2025, and 5,573 have been injured. The overall death toll from the war since October 2023 stands at 74,544, with at least 175,692 people wounded.
Israel also continues to expand its control over the Strip. Almost two-thirds of Gaza is now under Israeli military control or subject to its restrictions. Palestinians there are also facing an escalating food crisis, which the source links to ongoing Israeli crossing closures and reduced international funding for assistance.
