Ahmed Hussain delivered an outstanding all-round performance as Pakistan Under-19 dominated England Under-19 by 200 runs in the fourth and final one-day match, securing the series 3-1 at Sir Paul Getty’s Ground in Wormsley on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Pakistan posted a commanding total of 350 for 4 in their 50 overs. Openers Usman Khan and Jahangir Bilal laid a strong foundation with a 148-run partnership. Both batsmen scored 79 runs each; Usman faced 93 balls hitting nine fours and a six, while Jahangir struck 13 fours during his 81-ball innings.
Captain Farhan Yousaf then accelerated the innings, finishing unbeaten on 80 off 54 balls, including eight fours and three sixes. Lower down the order, Hamza Zahoor remained not out on seven from two deliveries, helping Pakistan reach a formidable total.
In response, England started briskly but soon lost momentum as Pakistan’s bowlers tightened their grip. England captain Ralphie Albert top-scored with 46 runs off 24 balls, and Isaac Mohammed contributed 32 off 20 balls. However, their dismissals sparked a collapse, with England falling from 81 for 2 to being all out for 150 in just 20.4 overs.
Ahmed Hussain spearheaded the bowling attack, taking three wickets for 16 runs in 2.4 overs. Support came from Niqab Shafiq, Mohammad Sayyam, and Jahangir Bilal, who claimed two wickets apiece.
This emphatic victory allowed Pakistan to conclude the one-day series on a high note after narrowly losing the third match by two runs, where they had scored 300 for 9 chasing England’s 303. Earlier in the tour, England had won the only four-day match by 10 runs at Arundel from September 2 to 5.
