The Karachi stadium witnessed intense emotions during the 34th match of PSL 11, as a confrontation between Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf escalated, resulting in penalties for both players. The match, featuring Rawalpindi Zalmi and Islamabad United, turned fiery when tensions flared following Amir’s dismissal.

As Amir walked off the field, a verbal exchange began between him and Faheem Ashraf, which quickly intensified. Amir made a gesture signaling Faheem to move back, provoking a strong reaction and a face-to-face standoff. The situation grew tense as both players approached each other, raising concerns about a possible physical altercation.

Fortunately, the potential conflict was averted when teammates and on-field officials intervened promptly to separate the players and calm the situation. This swift action ensured that the high-stakes match could continue without further disruption, maintaining the competitive spirit of the game.

In a significant development after the match, the PSL match referee imposed a fine amounting to 10 percent of the players’ match fees on both Amir and Faheem for violating the league’s code of conduct. Both players acknowledged their responsibility for the incident, underscoring the league’s commitment to maintaining discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
