Comedian Matt Rife has invited Indiana Fever players Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham to watch his live presentation, even though both are already in the WNBA offseason. Rife made the invitation on Wednesday in a video he shared on Instagram.
Rife, 31, is best known for his role in the 2017 cast of “Wild ‘n Out.” Since then he has produced comedy specials including “Walking Red Flag,” “Only Fans” and “Matthew Steven Rife.” He has more than 11.4 million followers on Instagram.
Rife said he will perform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on November 8. In the post he joked that he would play one-on-one with Clark and said he hoped to see her and Cunningham there. He wrote: “Cannot guarantee Caitlin or Sophie will be there. But i hope they are and i hope they don’t make me look short.”
Fever’s playoff exit against the Las Vegas Aces
The sixth-seeded Fever advanced to the playoffs and forced a winner-take-all Game 3 in their first-round series against the Las Vegas Aces on October 1. They lost 94-83 at Michelob Ultra Arena, failing to unseat the reigning champions.
Cunningham will become an unrestricted free agent when the season ends. Teams are likely to be interested in the enforcer, who provides valuable minutes off the bench. It is unclear whether the 30-year-old will accept a Fever offer and return.
Clark’s signature sneaker draws strong interest
Clark has been making the most of her time away from the court. Her first signature sneaker, the Nike Caitlin 1s, was introduced globally on October 1 and has been very popular.
