Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz will be sidelined after suffering a hamstring injury, the German champions said on Thursday. The club said the Colombian would be unavailable for “the foreseeable future.”

The problem arose in Wednesday’s 2-2 home Champions League draw with Arsenal. Diaz came off the bench with just over 20 minutes left and had to be replaced shortly before the end.

Hamstring setback follows fitness doubts before Arsenal game

Bayern described the 29-year-old’s problem as a small tear to a muscle fibre in his left hamstring. German media reported he could be out for four to six weeks.

Before kickoff, coach Vincent Kompany said Diaz had “not trained to 100 percent” in the lead-up to the match.

Goalless in the Bundesliga since August, Diaz scored a hat-trick in last weekend’s 6-1 win over RB Leipzig. Since arriving from Liverpool in 2025, he has 31 goals and 24 assists in 62 games in all competitions.
