Giants Consider Trading Down in 2026 NFL Draft Amid Eagles’ AJ Brown Trade Talks

The New York Giants are exploring the possibility of moving down from their No. 5 position in the 2026 NFL Draft to acquire additional picks. They have several promising prospects available at No. 5, including Caleb Downs, Jeremiyah Love, Carnell Tate, and Francis Mauigoa.

Given the depth of talent, the Giants might opt to trade down a few spots rather than selecting early. One potential scenario involves a deal with a team like the Kansas City Chiefs, who could be interested in moving up to secure a top player. In exchange, the Giants would receive extra first-round selections.

For instance, if the Giants trade down to picks No. 9 and No. 29, they could still secure valuable players. At No. 9, they might select safety Caleb Downs, who is expected to contribute immediately. Later, at No. 29, they could add wide receiver Denzel Boston to bolster their offense alongside Malik Nabers.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles are embroiled in trade discussions surrounding star wide receiver AJ Brown following a challenging season. However, trading Brown is complicated due to his substantial contract and salary cap constraints.

In preparation for the future, the Eagles are also considering adding other wide receivers and may draft one this year. Prospects such as Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion, and Omar Cooper Jr are among those under consideration.

Currently, both franchises face pivotal decisions: the Giants weigh the benefits of trading down in the draft, while the Eagles deliberate on the future of AJ Brown amid trade rumors.
