A judicial magistrate court in Karachi has scheduled November 20 for framing charges against Pakistan Awaam Raaj Tehreek head Iqrar-ul-Hassan. The case concerns allegations that he circulated anti-state material on social media.
Judicial Magistrate East heard the matter, with Hassan attending alongside his lawyers. The court handed the accused copies of the case documents and instructed him to make sure he attends the next hearing.
NCCIA challan declared final in anti-state content case
The magistrate had earlier treated the interim challan filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) as final. The agency registered the case against the television anchor over claims that he promoted anti-state content online.

Earlier this month, a magistrate granted Hassan post-arrest bail. Judicial Magistrate (East) Gulraiz Memon approved the bail against a solvent surety and a personal bond of Rs 200,000 each.
Evidence and allegations at the centre of the case
According to the NCCIA, Hassan uploaded content “criticising constitutional and administrative measures” with the aim of inciting public disaffection against state institutions. These claims remain allegations.
The court observed that the case relies mainly on electronic and documentary evidence already secured by the agency. It found no apparent risk that the evidence would be tampered with.
