A deputy assistant director of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) was fatally shot near a parking area at the agency’s office in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area on Friday, police said.
Police identified the victim as Fahad. According to them, he had parked his vehicle and was walking toward the office when he came under attack.
Police said the attacker’s identity and motive are still being investigated. Early evidence suggested the shooting may have stemmed from personal enmity, they added.
An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the killing and to identify those responsible. The story is still developing.
