Examinations across Punjab’s education boards have gone digital, with the process formally starting on Friday in Lahore.
Muzamil Mahmood, Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations in Punjab and a member of the Chief Minister’s Advisory Committee on Education, said the e-sheets would make impersonation and fake candidate attendance impossible. He also said the shift would end reliance on conventional recycled paper.
Biology paper marks first e-sheet exam
Mahmood formally inaugurated the e-sheet system for the Punjab Board. In its first test, roughly 50,000 students took their biology paper using e-sheets.
Results are expected to be processed and declared considerably sooner, thanks to e-sheet technology and online marking.
All subject exams to go digital next year
Mahmood also announced that from next year, every subject examination across Punjab will be conducted through the e-sheet system.
