Pakistan and the European Union have agreed to strengthen counterterrorism cooperation at multilateral forums, including the United Nations, in pursuit of a coordinated global response to the threat. The understanding was reached during the 10th round of the Pakistan-EU Bilateral Counterterrorism Dialogue in Islamabad on Thursday, according to an official statement.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Director General (Counterterrorism) Dr Fareha Bugti, while Anna Strzaska, Special Envoy for Counterterrorism at the European External Action Service, headed the EU side. Both parties discussed recent regional and global developments shaping the terrorist threat and rejected terrorism in every form.
