Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, conducted a visit to the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) located in Wah. During this visit, he evaluated the defence complex’s manufacturing capabilities, export potential, and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing indigenous defence production.

During the inspection, the Field Marshal received detailed briefings on various operational aspects of POF and its critical role in bolstering national security through the local development and production of military hardware. He observed tests and trials of domestically designed and produced arms and ammunition, which emphasized POF’s commitment to innovation, self-sufficiency, and strengthening Pakistan’s defence manufacturing capacity.

In a significant development, Munir was updated on the progress of the corporatisation process following the implementation of the Defence Industry Productivity and Regulation Authority (DIPRA) Ordinance. Additionally, he was informed about ongoing efforts to indigenize and upgrade production lines, including the installation of two new industrial plants slated to begin operations by the end of this year.

This visit highlighted the military leadership’s focus on advancing self-reliance, indigenous manufacturing, and technological innovation within Pakistan’s defence sector, reinforcing the country’s strategic capabilities.
