The Balochistan cabinet convened on Wednesday under the leadership of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti to deliberate on the financial plan for the upcoming fiscal year. In a significant development, the cabinet gave its approval to the proposed budget, which carries a substantial total outlay of Rs1.089 trillion for the fiscal year 2026-27.

This approval marks a crucial step in the province’s financial planning, reflecting the government’s priorities and development agenda for the coming year. The budget aims to address various sectors and initiatives that are vital for the socio-economic progress of Balochistan, a region known for its strategic importance and developmental challenges.

Meanwhile, further comprehensive details regarding the allocation of funds and specific projects included in the budget are scheduled to be presented to the provincial assembly later in the day. This presentation will provide lawmakers and the public with a clearer understanding of how the resources will be distributed across different departments and programs.

Notably, the budget approval process is a key aspect of governance, ensuring that the provincial government has the necessary financial framework to implement its policies effectively. The Rs1.089 trillion budget reflects both the scale and ambition of Balochistan’s development plans as it moves forward into the fiscal year 2026-27.
