Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to undertake a crucial three-day official visit to China from May 23 to 25, aimed at reinforcing the enduring strategic partnership between the two countries. During this visit, he will engage in high-level discussions with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, focusing on bilateral cooperation, regional security, and advancing the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
This trip represents a key element of Pakistan’s current foreign policy, with a strong emphasis on the development of “CPEC 2.0.” The talks are expected to explore shifting the multi-billion-dollar initiative towards a more sustainable, business-to-business (B2B) model.
