Sindh to Introduce Dedicated Religious Curriculum for Hindu Students

The Sindh Education Department has sanctioned a new policy to enhance religious education for Hindu students attending government schools throughout the province. This initiative will introduce three specialized religious textbooks for students in Grades 3 to 5, set to replace the current ethics subject starting from the 2026-27 academic year.

In a significant development, the move aims to provide minority students with education that reflects their religious and cultural heritage more accurately. The Sindh Textbook Board is scheduled to allocate a specific budget next year to support the printing and official publication of these new textbooks.

Meanwhile, for the upcoming academic year, the initial printing of these textbooks will be managed by Prem Sagar Sanstha Karachi. This arrangement will serve as a transitional phase before the government assumes full responsibility for publication.

The Education Department has officially endorsed this decision, emphasizing it as part of wider efforts to foster inclusivity and diversity within the provincial education framework.
