The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has unveiled plans to construct a dedicated Rescue 1122 training academy in the Khyber agency, marking a significant step toward enhancing emergency response capabilities in the region. This initiative aims to provide specialized training and resources to the local rescue teams, ensuring better preparedness for various emergencies.

Set to be located in Shah Kas within the Khyber agency, the academy will occupy an expansive area of 300 kanals. This sizable facility is designed to accommodate state-of-the-art training infrastructure and equipment, reflecting the government’s commitment to modernizing disaster management services. The project has received official approval with a budget allocation of Rs 3,079.7 million, underscoring the scale and importance of this development.

Officials have projected that the construction and establishment of the Rescue 1122 academy will be completed by June 30, 2028. Once operational, the academy is expected to serve as a central hub for training rescue personnel not only from Khyber agency but potentially from other parts of the province as well. This move aligns with broader efforts to strengthen emergency response frameworks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has faced various natural and man-made challenges over the years.

In a significant development for the region’s safety infrastructure, the Rescue 1122 academy will play a crucial role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of rescue operations. Enhanced training facilities will equip responders with advanced skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting the communities they serve by reducing response times and improving disaster management outcomes.
