Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a significant telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he extended heartfelt greetings to both the Iranian leader and the people of Iran on the auspicious occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz. This exchange underscored the enduring brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran, reflecting a mutual respect rooted in shared cultural and religious traditions.

In response, President Pezeshkian warmly reciprocated the Prime Minister’s sentiments, conveying his sincere best wishes for the well-being and prosperity of the Pakistani nation. The cordial exchange highlighted the importance both countries place on maintaining strong diplomatic relations and fostering goodwill between their peoples.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the resilient Iranian population amid the ongoing challenges and tensions affecting the region. He conveyed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and extended prayers for the swift recovery and safety of those injured or otherwise impacted by recent events. This empathetic stance reflects Pakistan’s commitment to supporting its neighbor during difficult times.

Turning to broader regional concerns, the Prime Minister voiced serious apprehension regarding the escalating instability in the Gulf area. He emphasized the critical need for immediate de-escalation through dialogue and diplomacy, urging all parties involved to prioritize peaceful negotiations over conflict. Furthermore, he highlighted the essential role of unity and solidarity within the Muslim ummah as a foundation for overcoming divisions and fostering lasting peace.

Prime Minister Sharif also took the opportunity to update President Pezeshkian on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting stability and harmony across the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to playing a constructive and proactive role in facilitating peace efforts, underscoring the country’s strategic interest in a secure and cooperative neighborhood. This conversation marks a continuation of Pakistan’s broader foreign policy approach centered on dialogue, mutual respect, and regional collaboration.
