Iran Launches 73rd Wave of ‘Operation True Promise-4’ Targeting Israeli and US Sites

In a significant development escalating tensions in the Middle East, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has commenced the 73rd wave of its ongoing military campaign known as “Operation True Promise-4.” This latest offensive, conducted under the codename “Imam Ali (AS),” involved coordinated missile and drone strikes targeting multiple locations across Israeli-controlled territories as well as American military installations in the region. The operation unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, marking a continuation of Iran’s assertive posture in the protracted conflict with Israel and its allies.

The IRGC’s Public Relations Department detailed that the operation focused on striking both the southern and northern sectors of what it referred to as the “occupied territories.” Utilizing a combination of advanced missile systems—including the Fattah, Ghadr, and Emad—and unmanned aerial vehicles, the IRGC Aerospace Division reportedly executed precise attacks on key military and security infrastructure. Cities such as Arad, Dimona, Eilat, Be’er Sheva, and Kiryat Gat were among the primary targets, with the IRGC claiming that these strikes successfully penetrated Israeli air defenses, which it described as having collapsed under the assault.

Beyond Israeli territory, the operation also extended to US military bases situated in the region. The IRGC asserted that airbases including Ali al-Salem in Kuwait, al-Minhad in the United Arab Emirates, and Al-Dhafra also came under missile and drone fire during this phase of the campaign. This expansion of targets to American facilities underscores the broader geopolitical stakes involved and highlights the increasing complexity of the conflict dynamics in the Middle East.

Casualty figures remain a critical concern, with the IRGC citing field reports that estimate over 200 individuals were either killed or wounded in the initial hours following the launch of the offensive. The group further accused Israeli authorities of imposing strict censorship on journalists and eyewitnesses, aiming to suppress information regarding the extent of the damage and the number of casualties sustained. This alleged media blackout raises questions about transparency and the true impact of the strikes on civilian and military populations alike.

Adding another layer to the conflict, the IRGC commended the involvement of Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group allied with Iran, for opening a “high-pressure” front against northern and central Israel. This development signals a widening of the conflict’s geographical scope and suggests a more coordinated regional effort against Israeli targets. The IRGC’s statement emphasized that the balance of power in the confrontation is shifting rapidly, with Israel’s defensive capabilities reportedly weakening and its control over air defense systems deteriorating.

Criticism was also directed at the Israeli government, particularly under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership. The IRGC accused the Israeli administration of exacerbating the situation through its military strategies, which it claimed are increasing risks to civilian populations, especially those residing near sensitive nuclear and military sites. This warning highlights the potential for further escalation and the dangers posed to non-combatants amid ongoing hostilities.

Overall, the 73rd wave of “Operation True Promise-4” marks a notable intensification in the protracted conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. The use of sophisticated missile and drone technology across multiple fronts reflects a new phase of military engagement that could have far-reaching consequences for regional stability. As tensions continue to mount, the international community watches closely, concerned about the possibility of a broader regional war erupting from these escalating hostilities.
