Ichhra triple murder linked to poverty, police say
Senior police officials said poverty and domestic pressure were the main motives behind a triple murder case in Lahore’s Ichhra area, in which a mother allegedly killed her three children. The three young siblings were found brutally murdered inside their home.
Speaking to a YouTube channel, DSP Qamar Abbas of the Investigation Wing, Gulberg Lahore, said poverty emerged as the primary motive during interrogation. The family of seven lived in a small rented flat, and the husband’s monthly income of around Rs30,000 made it hard to meet basic needs.
The officer said the husband allegedly pressured his wife to seek financial help from her own parents, who were also poor. He added that tensions escalated after a dispute with the mother-in-law and verbal abuse from the husband. Police also said the accused woman claimed she had faced severe domestic pressure and mistreatment.
