The Sindh High Court’s constitutional bench on Thursday summoned replies from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and other parties over harassment allegations against a Sindh MPA. The court also barred any action against the petitioner until the next hearing.
An anti-encroachment department employee filed the petition, alleging that the People’s Party member had used the NCCIA to harass political opponents. According to the petition, a brother of PPP MPA Asif Moosa serves as a sub-inspector in the agency.
Petitioner alleges suspensions and cyber case
Petitioner’s counsel Jahangir Kalhoro said the MPA had got his client suspended three times. The petition further states that the cyber authority registered a case after the petitioner posted about his innocence on social media.
Court seeks replies by November 11
The bench has asked the interior ministry, the FIA and other parties to respond by November 11.
