Mobile Phone Services Suspended in Select Areas on Muharram 9 and 10

In a precautionary measure, mobile phone services will be temporarily suspended in designated areas on the 9th and 10th of Muharram. This action is typically taken to maintain public safety and prevent any untoward incidents during significant religious events. Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, holds great importance for many communities, particularly for commemorations related to the martyrdom of Imam Hussain.

Authorities often impose such restrictions during Muharram to manage large gatherings and processions, which can attract thousands of participants. The suspension of mobile services helps in controlling misinformation, coordinating security efforts, and minimizing the risk of violence or disturbances. This step reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring peaceful observance of religious rituals.

Meanwhile, residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and stay informed through alternative communication channels. The temporary disruption is expected to last only for the specified dates, after which normal services will resume. Such measures underscore the delicate balance between religious freedom and public order during sensitive periods.
