In a significant development, law enforcement authorities in Hyderabad successfully intercepted a major shipment of illegal arms during a late-night operation conducted on the National Highway. The operation took place between Saturday night and early Sunday morning, highlighting the police’s ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking of weapons in the region.

The Combined Intelligence Agency (CIA) along with Naseem Nagar police collaborated in this operation, which led to the seizure of a truck and a car transporting a cache of sophisticated firearms and munitions. These vehicles were en route from Karachi to Tando Allahyar when they were stopped for inspection on the National Highway.

Police officials confirmed that the confiscated arms are valued at several crores of rupees, underscoring the scale and seriousness of the illegal consignment. The operation resulted in the arrest of five suspects who were allegedly involved in the transportation and delivery of these weapons.

This incident reflects the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in combating illegal arms smuggling across provincial borders. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to intensifying surveillance and conducting similar operations to prevent such consignments from reaching their destinations, thereby enhancing regional security.
