Qatar has announced a visa-on-arrival option at no cost for travellers holding Pakistani passports, allowing eligible visitors to remain in the country for up to 30 days. The arrangement is subject to certain conditions, according to Qatari authorities.
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior said the same facility will also be open to citizens of India and Thailand.
Length of stay linked to hotel bookings
The permitted stay depends on the length of a traveller’s confirmed hotel reservation, rather than the full 30 days. Travellers with bookings shorter than 30 days will be allowed to stay only for that corresponding period.
Announcement follows reports of temporary suspension
The announcement comes after reports that Qatar had temporarily suspended visa-on-arrival and online visa services for Pakistani nationals. The latest clarification from Qatari authorities sets out four conditions that eligible Pakistani travellers must meet to obtain the free visa on arrival.
