Mia Khalifa Condemns Lebanon Violence: ‘When Will It Stop?’

Media personality Mia Khalifa delivered a heartfelt and urgent message on social media, condemning the rapid escalation of violence in Lebanon. She expressed deep anguish over the severe humanitarian impact of recent military operations, describing the situation as both “dystopian” and “insane.”

Khalifa emphasized the extensive destruction inflicted within a remarkably short timeframe, citing reports of 160 airstrikes occurring in just ten minutes. These attacks have devastated civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, schools, and hospitals.

Notably, she drew attention to the targeting of cemeteries and funeral processions amid ongoing ceasefire discussions. Khalifa remarked on the decades-long suffering endured by Lebanon, stating, “We’ve watched a genocide play out before our eyes for decades,” while observing a significant intensification in recent years.

For Khalifa, the crisis is profoundly personal, referring to Lebanon as her “homeland.” She voiced inner turmoil over the use of her tax dollars to support military actions against the region she holds dear.

She also highlighted the stark contrast between global technological progress and persistent regional conflicts, questioning the priorities of a world investing in space exploration while failing to prevent the bombing of sovereign nations.

Struggling to convey the depth of her sorrow, Khalifa admitted to feeling helpless, often sharing the perspectives of others who might be less emotionally involved. Despite her relatively privileged position, the visible devastation led her to an emotional breakdown during her statement.

Concluding her appeal, Khalifa extended her thoughts to all those affected in Lebanon, echoing the concerns of many in the diaspora witnessing the crisis from afar. Her plea serves as a powerful reminder of the human suffering behind the headlines, ending with a poignant question to the international community: “When will it stop?”
