Paris Saint-Germain’s home Ligue 1 game against Lyon, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed until Monday, the French league announced. The decision followed a police request amid a wave of violent protests in the French capital.
In a statement, the league said it had noted a police decree banning the match from going ahead on Sunday evening. It has rescheduled the fixture for Monday at 8:30 pm, instead of the original 8:45 pm kickoff.
French authorities are bracing for another weekend of protests in Paris and across the country. The unrest follows some of the worst urban violence in years, which broke out on the sidelines of demonstrations a week earlier.
